Leach was part of a impressive team effort that was instrumental in orchestrating the industry's first outsourcing agreement in 1995. The 5-year, $75 million contract with Unisys Corporation broke new ground in how an EDA supplier interacts with its customer. And the agreement brought with it a talented team of designers who fanned the foundation of Cadence's design factory concept, an innovative model for offering engineering expertise to a wide variety of Cadence's customers. Prior to joining Cadence in 1993, **Leach worked 21 years at *Andersen Consulting*. At Andersen, he was partner-in-charge of the firm's Electronics Consulting** effort where he worked with such technology clients as Sony, Hewlett-Packard, Lockheed, **Motorola**, Intel, and Toshiba. During his career at Andersen, he developed an expertise in working with companies to align their investment in technology with their overall strategic objectives. Leach also managed Andersen's computer integrated manufacturing practice, affording him experience with clients' product development strategies.
