Yeah, I checked out a couple. Nokia's model is big... but Qualcomm models look like those Taiwanese calculators Reader's Digest keeps sending my grandmother. I'll call it a tie. Didn't see the Q-phone or CDMA Startacs, though. Funny how the eyes of the sales personnel glazed over when I asked about GSM and CDMA phones. They simply did not have a clue about the standards. It appears that the average consumer doesn't even know there is a standard competition going on. There was this guy who insisted that he wants a Qualcomm phone for ATT Onerate. It's interesting to see how this evolves.

Great to see ATT showing 74% subscriber growth. American commentators have not mentioned Nokia's pivotal role in this. I watched Jerry Springfield yesterday and I'd say that these business journalists are classic "enablers"... they aid Motorola in its self-destruction by failing to point out its failings or report the successes of its competition (Nokia as ATT's main partner in the Onerate plan).
