Mas, I just checked on the following site schwab.com and they solicit international accounts, available since Dec.'96. So, please go to the site, click on 'international accounts' and ask your questions. I have also sent them email to ask on your behalf, but since they are upgrading right now the answer might be delayed. As to how reliable and dependable Schwab is: they are as reliable as possible, any errors they may make will be corrected. Schwab is, to my knowledge, the largest and oldest US discount broker. A trade of stocks up to 5000 shares costs $ 29.95. I think you can trust them - I do. Of course, even if all that satisfies you, there is still the tax question to be answered.
