It seems like EVERYBODY is getting into the Y2K PC fix nowadays.

Our church just received a mailer from a local building supply store (Lumberman's). It announces a $15 "fix" available through them.

It's really just a come-on by the developers of the "fix". Provided with the "fix" is a brochure that describes the service offered by "Y2K Solutions, Inc." in good ol' downtown Puyallup, WA. The service does the following: You provide a list of vendor software installed on your machine. They send you back a status of the Y2K compliancy for each of those vendor packages. For only $50. What a deal.

I like it. It's a fully automated list processor. You create the list, stick it in the mail, and presto! You get back a results list. Can't get much more automated than that. Unless you figure out some way to automatically create the list.

TED (OK, so I'm just a tad bit cynical ...)
