LT, I hate to give you ammunition. But some "experts" have said the PC could be rivaled by the "internet appliance" years from now, a kind of dumb computer connected to the Internet and a MEGASERVER, which Bill Gates has just written about, his "visionary" memo released to the NY TImes and WSJ last week. But this is at least 5 to 10 years out I guess--if it happens at all-- and will not affect Dell's customer base, corporations and govenrments, etc., in a damaging way in my opinion. The so called internet appliance could hurt the sub 1000 PC makers though. But there is no evidence I've seen that this is just around the corner and that Dell's buggy whip days are at hand. This is a very distant concern. Anyone else have any thoughts on this remote threat?
