ANCOR SHORT INTEREST :

2,259,683 shares short as of 10/15/98

1,697,322 shares short on 9/15/98

The short interest increased by 562,361 shares in past 30 days, ie +33%. Can there be ANY doubt about certain Reg D holders shorting in advance of future conversion? I agree with Greg that the prospects of Reg D holding naked longs or shorts is slim to none. The implication is that the $7 million of Reg D which has yet to be converted is misleading because the number does not take into account future conversions which will be used to cover existing short positions. In reality, there is much less than $7 million of stock to be sold/converted because they have already been "sold short" against the box.
