Western Pacific Gold - High Grade Copper Mineralization Discovered in Solomon Islands

CALGARY, ALBERTA--Western Pacific Gold Inc. (WPI) advises that it has completed a
trenching program on its 100 percent owned Mbetilonga SPL 191 Hambusimaloso project on
Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. Figure 1 - Tenement Locations.

On an extensively mineralized zone at Hambusimaloso, ten continuous representative 5m channel
samples, each 3 - 5 kilograms, excavated one meter deep on a creek bank, returned an
intersection of 50m 2.45 percent Copper with the highest individual assay being 5m 7.46 percent
Copper. This intersection is open at both ends and into the hill on the south side of the creek.
