Not "portable?" I spoke with my brother at the FCC the other day. He said the music media moguls wouldn't be getting much support from the Dept. in the effort to protect their "copy rights" from the perceived threats of this portable device. msnbc.com The WaveMeter can enhance many such portable digital devices. It's metering feature could be incorporated into smart cards too. As I understand it, Peter Sprague first pondered the idea that's developed into our WaveMeter while holding a portable device to receive his stock quotes. Smart cards will do a lot of things for sure. However, they will not represent the only point of consumption. We'll still prefer to view our visual information and entertainment on a nice Monitor (or have it "pumped" direct onto the retina of the mind's eyes by some other means of prosthesis) rather than watch it on the back of a smart card; or listen to audio processed by something bigger than the sound from speakers on the back of a smart card...
