MSO = multiple system operators. Each city selects one cable system operator to supply cable. You don't have choice in the selection of your operator. The government calls this competitive free market capitalism. The people think it's wonderful that they're protected from greed. They'd rather pay more for less than let them capitalist pigs steal from the helpless public. Everybody knows that competition doesn't work. Government has to do something: Regulate and create fairness.

I was merely trying to bring out the fact that there is an incredible irrational prejudice against ATM in general and against this company in particular. I have been in endless technical discussions defending ATM's transport layer superiority. ATM is winning. Choose another way and you're headed for headaches.

I tend to be in the bear camp for '99, but not with this company. It is going to be a big winner while MSFT, CSCO, INTC, and other bloated dinosaurs are hitting the ropes. It will be hard to buy FORE which suits me no end.
