I am sorry but you are misleading people who dont have experience with options Come on folks load up on longer term options on dell and you will make money Really??? DEPENDS ON THE TIMING Go to quote.com quote.com and figure out some strike prices from cboe for jan (its a little tricky because of the split..some of them you will have to look at two strikes to get the idea...) cboe.pcquote.com where would you be if you had gotten those in August .. and if you cant figure out the strike business... think about this logically boy Dell just announced a split and it is going to the moon...I am buying calls today... options bought in August after earnings are not going to be worth the same at the end of Oct with dell running the same price.... how many of you urged caution when dell ran to 130 and said...well...maybe Dell wont run up...and will be the same price in Oct....and may even get to 80 (40)?????????? Is there anyone on this thread besides the people that you jeer...that said dell could go to 80 when dell was at 130 in August...50 point drop???? what if you had bought an Oct certain strike in August (actually not sure off the top of my head when oct's were available) when dell was 130...you think it was a sure thing..if someone wants to play around with that...J is the code for October calls... it isnt pure gravy...a sure thing...will it work by jan???..maybe..maybe not and I hope to hell some people finally get it through their head that buying options on Dell is not gravy...I have already seen a person hurt by the thinking that permeates this thread yes it can work but is also can NOT work timing is everything with options because they are a wasting asset and dont be fooled that they are gravy with ANY stock
