Imaging World, Jan 1. '97 edition.

"40 companies to watch in 1997".

The first entry is: Open Text.

"Open Text. In 1996 Open Text really made the Odesta acquisition work for it, bringing together full text retrieval, workflow and electronic document management in a Web-enabled architecture to create a powerful and sexy product. Open Text put itself on the map by taking Lotus Notes head-on and diving into the collaborative computing market, focusing on solutions rather than the seperate pieces of technology. By the last quarter it was able to identify some significant reference accounts--solidly answering the question "Does it really work?"--and should be well positioned for continued momentum in 1997."

The analyst is Linda Myers-Tierney of Myers-Tierney and Associates.
