I have been accused of slightly mocking a race of people. Of course nothing can be farther from the truth. I assume that my use of Ebonics has caused the accusation. Well. I happen to enjoy the dialect, finding it wonderfully expressive, and I do not automatically associate it with a group of people. It is my dialect, just as is standard English. I like it, as it can ridicule an opponent as no other dialect can.

For example, whereas in standard English one might say "Sir, are you insane?" The economy and sheer punch of Ebonics turns the thing into a walloping phrase: "You CRAZY???" I like it, and no one should find it insulting unless they are ashamed of it. I am not.
