Paul,

You are better prepared than I thought and I see you are paper trading Dell. Dell is a very slippery stock to get executions on, so you might want to practice on something slower like NSCP or SEEK. I rely on ISLD or ARCA for most of my executions. I will try SOES if ISLD doesn't have the shares I want. I always use limit orders, never market. I feel market orders give the broker and the MMs too much room to pick your pocket. And you can get executed far away from where you'd like to.

Try all the routes and be prepared to spend some commissions money to get it down. I did a hundred trades in NSCP to practice executions when I started with MBT. It was good experience. I found out for myself what worked and what didn't. I recommend this type of practice.
