Application Server questions: It appears that many of Inprise's competitors are licensing a key technology from Inprise to make their products work. I know both the NetDynamics and Kiva offerings do- are there others? Also, what key technology is this and can these people eventually replace it with their own- are they planning to? It appears that in Sun's case the answer is no. Should we soon here a similar deal with Netscape? I'm in the dark as to how much revenue this represents now and in the future. If appilcation servers take off as predicted, won't Inprise benefit tremendously? I do find it ironic that competitors are shipping products with Inprise's technology and they can't get their own out the door- I suppose it's not the biggest part of the package. Sorry to ramble- but it seems like Inprise has most of its competitors dependent on them for key technology- if anyone can provide a more complete list and what kind of licensing deal is typically made, that would be great. Thanks.
