Steve

Alstom was a JV with UK General Electric. Altcatel and GE sold 25 % in June during the IPO. I think that they still have both 25%.. Now as Alstom is going well, Alcatel will be able to sell some of it. I believe that there is one year grace, or two during which the two partners are not allowed to divest more of their shares.

Alcatel submarine- I believe that it is part of Alcatel Cable. I did not make a specifc research, but I believe that Alcatel Cable used to be only partly owned by Alcatel, but ALA bought all the shares 2-3 years ago.

Alcatel Espana,Not sure. When Tchuruck took over from Suard, one of the first decision was to simplify the structure, taking full ownership of startegic subsidiaries (like cable), but divesting others (media, wine, etc...). The rational would be for Alcatel espana to be 100% owned.

This is not information I checked, but only as I remember it. If someone can confirm, or correct, that would be appreciated.
