My reference to ATHM was only representative. Your parent and some RBOC will provide similar plant and interconnectivity to compete directly with the T-TCI-ATHM axis. Both will use a combination of ATM switches, but I believe as you do that FORE provides the best of the breed in ATM. Although the CEO of ATHM seeks merger with TWX-Road Runner, I think this isn't in the best interest of all parties. The existence of competition is critical in asserting that cable modem is a new market, not to be bound with the regulatory limitations of old technology. Through competition both will grow faster and more FORE products will be sold.
