Hi Fred,

I've queried my ISPs as to their plans for 56K. UCSD and Prodigy responded that they are taking wait-and-see approach, not knowing who/what and which standard will prevail. To my chagrin, UCSD is replacing their USR 28Kbps Sportser modems with Ascend something or other. ATT didn't even understand my question.

I doubt that 56K will be ubiquitous anytime soon.
