As with all of us, additional investors will have to hear the real scoop on PM before they'll buy. In the Wall St. Jour. today, PM's earnings are registered as 28 cents this quarter and 45 cents a year ago, and 43 cents for six months versus 56 a year ago. An additional note at the bottom of these figures says that this year's results includes "net gains" of $958,000, with last year's including a gain of $2,723,000. No other wording or explanation is offered. Readers who surf these earnings' digests are likely to move on to companies that are reporting consistent gains, rather than obviously-looking significant "losses." Harold V
