It appears that the beauty of IE is that it can work well as a module of someone elses system or as a utility wiyhin the Windows OS. It for this reason that MSFT was chosen over NSCP in the AOL case. The presence of AOL on Windows was moot as they (AOL) already had 90% of the desktop space through OEM contracts- so foran additional 10% what's the big deal. But if the cpu OEM's can make desktop deals with AOL why can't MSFT- common industry practice.
