SE Asian Currencies Stronger; Thai Baht Hits 52-Week High

SINGAPORE -- The Thai baht's improbable climb to its
highest level against the U.S. dollar in more than a
year took center stage in Asian currency markets
Wednesday.

The U.S. dollar was trading at 36.88 baht (THB) in late
trading, well down from THB37.37 Tuesday - and the
dollar's lowest level since Oct. 17,1997.
