Hello Vaughn!

I just heard a few minutes ago on CBC of a new product called (moissanite) spelling might be off a tad.

This product processed by a small company in the States, is so diamond like that experts cannot tell them apart from the real thing. Even under a microscope it has in some respects better properties than diamonds. It is more brilliant and virtually just as hard if not harder than a diamond. They showed a test where moissanite and a diamond were super heated. The diamond vaporised and the moissanite remained stable.

This new product may not be good for the diamond industry when experts cannot tell the difference, the consumer may lose faith in what the bought at the jeweller. This new product is ten times cheaper that a diamond of the same size.

Have any of the Diamond people in Yellowknife ever discussed this new twist in the Diamond industry.

Cheers !!! Peter
