Tri,
Thank you my friend, I agree with your idea about listening, but I just had to write a response of my own this morning. I was going to hold it for tomorrows story but am going to post it now. Make sure you read the first story, then have your wife read mine. The combination of both will make a great marriage just as it will take both husband and wife, together, to make one work!!!
I AM, WHAT I AM!!
I do listen to you, when I give advice I do it out of love. I did not mean to trample your feelings, I meant to caress them, sooth them. I have been trained from childhood to solve problems. I did not mean to fail you!!
I do listen, but it is hard for me to stand by when I see you in such pain, turmoil, despair and keep my mouth shut! It is hard not to give advice, even though I know it is cheap.
You are not helpless, nor inadequate. You are the whole that keeps me together. You are my strength, my courage, my hope. I see this in you and cannot understand why you do not see it in yourself. Mine is not to contribute, but rather to ease your fear.
I accept that you feel, I yearn for your feelings. For, through your feelings, I become whole. I become the man I want to be, for you. You are the pillar in my life.
Yes, God is mute and he listens without interruption, but God made me for you, and you for me. God made me what I am and I can be no less. When you need me to listen to you, listen to me as well, not with your ears, but with your heart. For I am, what I am. A man!!!!
