Back when I had a cat (Ferrari by name) she came RUNNING whenever the can opener sounded. It was bound to be one of her two favorite things. Wet cat food (a rare treat) or tomato sauce. Go figure. She LOVED tomato sauce. I'd spoon it into my recipe du jour, and she'd meticulously lick every last microgram out of the can.
