Deism is quite different from theology which is the base of of western religions. The religions based on a human as God is not the God of my heart.Spirituality is internal to each person. The God I know is my higher self or as the Apostle Paul says is the Christ in me. The freethinkers I know have reasoned and searched their minds and find the human God story of Jesus impossible to conceive. Especially when they read the history that is recorded about all the previous saviors and find there is nothing new except historicising the story with a new religion.
