I'm trying to give you some hard won experience that I've accumulated over 30 years. It is cost/benefit. You think I'm being foolish to be out. To be in means you are betting on three independent occurrences: good environment for techs, ODIS execution, and something to break the big company strangle hold on the DBMS market. Whereas the former are not too bad in their negative expectations, the latter has the lottery odds.

There is another concern: Japan. They have been given a nominal reprieve, but I claim it's too late. They are throwing good money at bad debt. This action doesn't address the true problem which has very little to do with Japanese banks. When the confidence runs out again, the good money will fly to safety in our T-market, pulling out the basis supporting the empire. The collapse of Japan will send the stock market into a bear lasting until the fall of 2000.

I sure hope this a wrong view.
