Interesting Info to share..My wife works for a major vendor to Lucent and today Lucent had an awards banquet for their vendors. At this meeting Lucent had people attend from all segments of thier company and from all over the world to address the group. My wife said that the one thing that Lucent pounded home was that their entire focus moving forward revolves around wireless communications. Several of the top people there even commented that Lucent was betting it's entire future on wireless and that all resources were being utilized to move lucent aggressively in this direction. Brazil and Saudi Arabia were two areas of the world most prominently mentioned and areas that lucent expects to see huge growth from. Apparently they had several new products there to show the group, products which represent lucent's future, and all were wireless. My wife said that one thing that Lucent for some reason made very clear is that wireless is their future. She said it was odd because it was more like a shareholders meeting than an award banquet for vendors.

I thought this information might be helpful as we all continue to speculate on who Lucent will buy. Maybe we need to broaden our thoughts on what kind of company Lu really needs or wants right now?
