The thread knew much of the negative implications of MSFT long ago. We discussed it into the ground. We didn't know about the alleged Medin connection though. Much ado about nothing. MSFT was just worried that ATHM's seeming preference for Navigator would foil their entry into the broadband arena. As the article mentions, ATHM and MSFT have various business deals going. It is hearsay and it's hard to see any relevance. I'm sure there exists a tape with Case saying, "We'll get government to smash ATHM just like NSCP is doing to MSFT".
