This article gives some concept of the more exotic equipment
that Dell is getting into with their new mass storage items.
Although Dell may start with 120 clustered dd's rather than 370,
I would guess they would use 400 or 450 mhz computers rather than the 20 -200 mhz.
I have no idea whether Dell uses the Tertiary concept, but the equipment required should be comparable.
