John, I doubt this was a gift. Rambus just licensed another company for RDRAM. Rambus is continuously licensing DRAM companies...this has little or nothing to do with INTEL's generous gift to MU...and BTW, MU was already licensed to manufacture and sell RDRAM. Believe me the $500 mil was a gift...or at least a bribe.<vbg> DavidG
