LOL---- well, I've proceeded to let my mouth overload my abilities ........
I was at my wife's office talking bout the cooking discussion, recepies, etc. ... and 5 members of her staff said for me to put up or shut up on making from scratch.
For lunch today, I'm to feed them a vegeterian (no meat at all, not even chicken stock) soup or stew which is made from scratch. Dang, I didn't realize how much I depended upon the flavor from the stock ...... gggg
Here's what I have ready now, but as I'm also pouring about 600 ft of exposed aggregate walkway about the same time ...... my soup must be ready fairly quickly .........
My ingredients --- and the soup is good looking, good texture, good color, good in every way except lacking in "flavor impact" for a lack of better terminology ......
chopped ...... squash .......potatoes .......zuccinni .......onion sliced ....... red bell pepper ........green bell pepper ........onion whole .......snow peas .......black turtle beans .......split peas .......lentils .......noodles .......rice
seasoned with green chilies salt butter buds
I've made one very similar to this using a defatted chicken stock instead of the water and it's great ...... the stock adds some body and a lot of flavor ....
ANY IDEAS ? ? ?
oh yeah ---- this meal, which includes homemade bread and cornbread must be low fat and low sodium ------ I have the bread part handled with no problem ......
