I don't think we can assume the Central Office modem will be splitterless. I would assume the other way around that the CO "ATU-C" modem will have a splitter which supports both G.heavy and G.Lite. The need for the splitterless option is to reduce truck rolls, not to remove the splitter for the heck-of-it. Granted some vendors will provide DSLAM's that ONLY support G.Lite, I don't see the advantage over an ATU-C which supports both.... maybe power consumption ,thus increased density... until later
