Nealm: The short position being up doesn't surprise me at all. Why? There's an article I've posted in the past that provides the logic behind MM short selling tactics. MM's seldom short when an issue is falling. They DO, however, short when an equity is on the rise, and the stronger the rise, the more they short. Consider this to be a "breaking" action to manage/maintain control over the issue.
Soooo, all else being equal, with recent days absolutely HUMONGO(that's a technical term for large, heh) volume, it stands to reason they'd be shorting as much as they tactically can. Meanwhile, speaking of volume, I see VLNC has returned to its languishing days of old, what with the roll off in volume. Guess we just gotta wait on some sort of news, eh??
