Michelle - I didn't say "liberal legislation." I said "liberalist ideas." There is a significant difference. The school/educational system is run at the behest of the academic intelligentsia; it is they who establish the standards and expectations for what we all have to pay for. If the objective was to appropriately educate children and young adults for success in today's economic world, we would see more focus on results rather than spending money on the machinations of those who run the process without any responsibility for the outcome.

The property tax issue you raise (again) is not an adequate, let alone appropriate singular explanation for the problems in CA schools, however, it is convenient to (again) re-demonize a group you have a serious amount of antipathy toward.

At least part of the problem has to do with immigration. Another part is the academic dogma that insists on dual-language redundancy in teaching. Yet another is the waste brought about by bureaucratic meddling. The list is endless, IMO, but it is not just property taxes.

Busing? I never mentioned it, but it, too, certainly proved to be a monumental boondoggle.

Mr. K.
