I was not able to listen intensely the whole conference call, but my take was management was very somber. Supposedly, SG&A was in place for a quarter that was originally expecting much higher sales. Of course you cannot cut back easily when things turn sour. Something about this bothers me though. As I look back, one of the major points by short sellers was that MRV was hiding expenses in their one-time write-offs. Seems to me they might be correct. Revenue numbers were not that bad. They also said gross margins will remain in the high 30's due to intense competition.
