IMO INTC benefits in many ways with Rambus. There MERCER chip, which uses RDRAM, puts INTC a generation ahead of their competition, NSM and AMD. The wide bandwidth bus will cause its competition to spend more money then they already have.They are struggling now by just trying to keep up with 100MHZ systems and even then they are not compatible with INTC b/c they are only using the obsolete socket 7.

INTC knows very well how RAMBUS will squeeze the rest.<g>
