Let's just take a minute to look at my vision for CJPG and what I see for 1999. With the hard working, dedicated and extremely knowledgeable staff, any and or all of the following accomplishments can be realized. First of all, with almost no major competition, Casino Journal, Casino Player, and the group of newsletters, will continue to grow in subscriber base as the gaming market continues to expand across the US. The marketing programs that have been put into place with several of the top casino databases have already increased the number of subscribers to Casino Player substantially and will continue to add thousands of additional subscribers each month. This increase to well over the 100,000 paid monthly circulation will open up new avenues for Madison Avenue agencies to place with CP nationally priced advertising, particularly liquor, cigars, travel agencies, and other casino related business that need to reach this market on a targeted basis.
The launch of Strictly Slots will fill a market void, since almost 70% of casino visitors consider themselves 'slot players' there will be an immediate acceptance of this product. This will bring in additional advertising revenue from slot manufacturers since they have a desperate need to explain and promote all the new slot games and systems to those players. Again, all the Casino Player advertisers will also need to have a presence in Strictly Slots to reach that targeted group. I can make a case for advertising revenues doubling in 1999 just from the above.
Casino Ops and Casino Journal will also continue to grow in subscribers as there appears to be no real competition anymore for the trade side of the industry. As more and more casinos open, more and more people are being employed. Go to any casino in America and mention Casino Journal to any mid-level or upper-level manager and you will hear the same response; 'great publication, I read it every month'. There is no better source that CJ for people in the industry to know what is going on. Add to this the weekly and daily newsletter, and CJPG is the backbone source for industry info. What a perfect way for suppliers to the industry to reach the decision making buyers from the casinos.
Let's talk about the trade shows. Ask anyone who has attend a CJPG trade show in the last year what their opinion was of that show and you will hear rave reviews. The Southern Gaming Summit was so well received and has grown so much in the last few years that many industry execs prefer it over the WGC in Vegas. With that sort of word of mouth, attendance and exhibitors will continue to grow dramatically in 1999. Add to this the my hope that CJPG makes a bid to take over the World Gaming Congress in Vegas, we could see revenues skyrocket over $20 million just from the trade show side of the business. This is a very real possibility.
What about the CJPG internet site, think about the possibilities of gaming's most visited web site can do for the company in the next few years as more and more e-commerce moves to the web. What amount of sales can come through the web site for casino catalogue merchandise, hotel bookings, travel agent advertising and booking fees, online gaming, and who knows what else. The web site has changed dramatically in the last few months and is perfectly positioned for additional growth in both visitors and revenue streams.
Additional growth can come from the acquisition of one or more related gaming magazines, CJPG has already been approached by a publisher or two. These types of opportunities will happen more and more as the company firmly establishes itself as the information leader in the gaming industry.
Then there are all the other leisure industries that need a good solid consumer magazine, as well as a trade magazine and trade show schedule. Think about NASCAR racing, bowling, skiing, time-shares, concerts, and so on. These areas are being explored now and when you go looking, opportunities develop.
So where can CJPG be a year from now in my opinion??? We can easily see a company doing over $20 million in revenue and growing at a rate of 30 to 40% per year for many years to come. One day Wall Street will happen to find this gem and then you tell me what those 4 million or so shares will be worth. I can see a double digit figure with more than a 1 for the first digit. Is there reason that any of the above can't or won't happen. With the track record of the past, and the people CJPG has in place, I don't see any!
