Rick, I am following this with interest. Must say I like your idea. My record is 10 times better than yours. Open a small, $20,000 escrow account for each of my kids and I will open my tax records. If it is not 10 times better than your record, you can publish my record. In fact, just open the escrow accounts and I will concede that you are the better investor!

IMO something is happening with CORR and XOMA. Yes, XOMA has done this before, but this time we are very close to the end of a P III trial. As you point out, upper management does not always make the best decisions. I think this applies to Bayer and other big companies, as well as myself and everyone. In other industries when a merger mania hit sometimes the worst companies were bought at high prices and later divested. Don't see much reason why the biotech sector will be any different, given that most are available for a pittance and that it is much more difficult to determine a reasonable price than in the natural resource sector.

I think you will be able to determine which companies most deserve to be bought and by whom but I wonder if the big guys that make the decisions will be as scientific and logical.

BTW, I hope I live long enough to see the results of DuPonts move out of the oil sector and into biotech. While I think it is bullish for biotechs I think it will be a big mistake.
