I hear what you are saying...and they just announced that the train systems will be "upgraded to 70 MPH faster... However I should say that I rode the TGV train in France from Paris to southern France and I'm telling you we are talking apples and oranges...You pass whole towns in seconds...pretty amazing... The only reason I mentioned it was that there was an article where IMG was pondering reopening the MAGLEV question in New York recently... When you start to talk about 200-300 MPH then you are talking a whole different league...from upgraded trains and are talking about competition to Flying... IMO.
