All,

IMO, these measures (or should I call them, recommendations) recently by the FCC to reduce or to eliminate altogether the reciprocal "local" charges, and the classification of Internet services as "long distance," may only be smoke screens in anticipation of the next shoe dropping to the floor.

IOW, once it's classified as LD, then VoIP can be classified as LD, in the context of regulatory terms.

As such, I believe that all of this is merely paving the way for the moment when access charges, and origination and termination charges, will be levied against VoIP carriers who use the PSTN as a part of their "long distance" call completion infrastructure.

Of course, I could be wrong about this, but....

Regards, Frank C.
