The report initially sowed confusion among some investors, who said they were thrown off by the inclusion of the revenue gain in earnings results, which complicated comparisons to published Wall Street forecasts and prior year's figures, they said. EDS officials told Wall Street analysts during a conference call after the report that the sale of leasing assets would reduce future revenues by $30 million annually, said SoundView Financial analyst Gary Helmig, who listened to the call. "The reason the stock traded up is that no one knew what they were looking at," Helmig said of the after-hours trading.
