I may pass on this year's show, although I wouldn't mind talking to Chris Jennings if he shows. Wish I had taken his advice about avoiding the ADP. Don't think a certain nickname creating IR person from a diamond company in the Tromp 12 will be very happy to see me.:-) Have to take a bean shooter and shoot tomato seeds for protection. There's him, a couple newsletter people, and certain cheap option re-pricers (if they come) who probably aren't looking forward to seeing me (although they probably don't even remember me-well, since they don't answer my email, maybe they to remember me).

Yes, I can see the newsletter panel now- BB, Irish Jack ( the former PG), Jim Dines, and a few other regulars taking out their crystal balls (their regulars balls are probably down about 60% from their peaks ;-)> ) and telling the assembled masses what their favorite picks for '99 are.. Let's see, I bet it will be Western Copper, Farralon from BB... the Nevada twins will be the conservative choice of some.... don't know if there will be any diamond picks or not...I better not comment on PG or I might get another early morning phone call from the dude...
They will all be bullish on POG- I can almost guarantee that--- yes, the tide is turning for POG, they'll say--they've been saying that for the 5 years I've been going- kind of like the boy crying wolf..one of these years they'll be right!

Well, maybe I'll stay home this year, although I do like all the Hershey chocolate kisses in gold wrappers and the chocolate gold coins. Not a lot of free pens lately, except from the mutual funds. Wine tasting with cheese, perhaps. Hmmm..no Canyon or Crown this year, or Dakota (are they still listed?) ..Looks to be a pretty poorly attended conference. Atna isn't bothering to have a booth. Costs $5k for a booth, I hear.

Well, so much for my musings. Regards from the Early Girl and the word out of Chi Town is Navistar might be helping their bottom line by selling a lot of diesel engines to Ford- if you're into S&P stocks.
