Gerard Klauer Co-Chmn Picks Stks Immune To Foreign Exposure

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--While investors may have seen the worst of market lows, they should
be cautious going forward by selecting stocks with little exposure to foreign markets, according
to Gerold Klauer, co-chairman of the investment firm Gerard Klauer Mattison.

"I don't think the Dow is going to make a tremendous move from here," Klauer said in a CNBC
interview Thursday. "I can see it going through 8500 and getting people excited for a while but
the issue going forward is do your homework."

Klauer suggests investing in companies that will be "somewhat" immune to economic problems
abroad and those that will meet of beat Wall Street expectations.

Investors should head warning signs that corporate America is heading for a slowdown, Klauer
said.

"The expectation, particularly among the large companies that have international exposure or
that have already gone through severe cost cutting measures, is that they are perhaps not
going to deliver as much in the way of earning as other companies will," Klauer said.

Amidst a murky corporate earnings outlook, Klauer sees stocks that have been beaten up in the
past few weeks becoming very attractive investments going forward.

Klauer likes companies in the business services area, like StaffMark Inc. (STAF), and
communications technology companies, like TCSI Corp. (TCSI) and Objective Systems
Integrators Inc. (OSII).
