You missed the second part of the release:

Product bookings for the quarter were approximately $950 million, the highest in the Company's
history, and the Company's product backlog at quarter-end grew to approximately $750 million
from $474 million at September 30, 1996, also the highest in the Company's history. The
Company attributed this growth to strong customer acceptance of the new products announced by
the Company on October 7, 1996, including the entry-level O2 workstation and the Origin
family of servers, and continued strong demand for Cray Research supercomputers. Despite the
strong bookings, the Company did not reach its expected level of shipments, due to a combination
of factors including delays in the manufacturing ramp-up for some of these new products and
variations in product mix.
