Pat:ISP's in Germany have been complaining bitterly about DT's price gouging. As a result of Market Forces VIAG INTERKOM is now the fastest growing Telecom in Germany. It's Wireless networks are supported by NOKIA and NT. I believe that the most successful TELECOM beyond Y2K will be the one who offers a wide range of Architectures right on from POTS to CATV,Cellular,PCS,MMDS,LMDS,DBS,LEO\|MEO . Firms that that can provide modular Carrier switches and Edge switches with signal recognition, translation,buffering and Accounting are the ones who will dominate the market. The use of PLD's and true parallel processing is going to explode but will be limited by the non-availabilty of Programmers with true parallel processing capability and not the Multi thread . The recent news about NN's signal recognition algol seems to me a great step in achieving the flexibility and cheapness desired by the NSP's.
