EK, Shorting is not really difficult on Watley's system. As we all know, one may not short on a downtick. However, lets say you place your offer on Island. Obviously, you're creating an opportunity for someone to purchase those shares from you, resulting in your account being net short that security. On Ultimate Trader, shorting is not difficult at all. Watley has a much wider variety of "shortable" securities than any other place I've found. If you're a short artist, you'll love this system. One thing that Watley would do well to get, and that would truly result in the "ULTIMATE TRADER" is having another ECN like Aracapellago (symbol TNTO on level 2). Island and Selectnet are fabulous but TNTO would add an extra dimension to Watley's system that would embarass the rest of the firms out there that use Real Tick III systems. With Ultimate Trader, especially with the RAES connection for options (turbo options) and Broadtape (dow jones news), this is an amazing setup.

As for listed/big board stocks, here's a trading tip: sell short a teenie above the bid and you'll usually get filled on your short. Key thing for this is that you should be on a system like Ultimate Trader that allows you instant executions (especially for shorts). Good Luck.

Regards,
SH
