RGinPG; Stochastics...

Due to the extreme volatility of the Oilpatch; is there a way to adjust the Stochastic parameters or settings, for an increased range of movement/volatility due to the extreme ''beta'' of this sector ?

If a wider range can be utilized; before triggering buy or sell signals; this could allow for a more volatile range of ''normal'' movement - without triggering either ''definite'' buy or sell signals. Allowing the movement both up & down a wider range of movement - before it would trigger signals in either direction would eliminate premature buy and sell signals wouldn't it ?

Out of curiosity - what characteristics, if any (I'm assuming you can change setting parameters) can you change or ''tweak'' ? It seems that adjusting the ''settings'' as the markets volatility changes is a factor - or does this defeat the purpose of the entire concept; if one has to constantly adjust settings ?
