Stephen, When I was posting news items as aggressively as you are now, I'd always try to read them first then comment on them in a preface to the post... like you were doing. Then they got to be too much, and selecting only the relevant ones became a chore itself, eating into my travel time. Then I was saved by you. I think that you are now falling into the same syndrome. Editorializing is probably a good thing if it means that we're making some sense out of all of this ink black that gets splashed about everyday. A lot of it is only spin... The problem isn't in dealing with the spin as much as it is getting through the wash cycle.
