SOME INSIGHT HOPEFULLY!!!

In a recent interview with Phillips Business Information, Inc...John Oberteuffer and Peter Durlach of Fonix where asked the following questions; I got it off my Bloomberg. Couldnt find the article online.

Will I go to a computer store and see fonix products on the shelves soon?

Answer: " We dont expect to be competing with Dragon or Lernout & Hauspie with a shrink-wrapped dictation product. But I think there are other areas where fonix will be a recognizable brand with respect to human-computer interface products. We're a few weeks away from having fonix-branded products in the handwriting recognition area

The new philps PDA cell Phone, whihc attaches to a personal digital assistant and forms a single unit, uses Papyrus' handwriting regcognition software. So you could conclude the fonix brand will be associated with some of those products in the very near future."

Question: What about fonix' sustained financial viability? How will you produce all these products and stay afloat?

Oberteuffer: " Well, you'd always rather make money than spend money. But I think the fonix development path in, in terms of the investment that's been put into human-computer interface technology and particularly speech recongnition technology, is probably not out of line with respect the the company's expectations.

We distinguish ourselves from the other speech recognition companies that are providing speech recongition technology on either and OEM basis or in single, shrink-wrapped products by looking at the marketplace as one for solutions and worling with large strategic partners such as Siemens. That relationship has been a source of our first revenue this year and is expected to be a source of continuing revenue as we develop products for them."
