Company Press Release
Cyberian Outpost's Affiliate Network Experiences Explosive Growth
Affiliate Network Expands More Than 1,500% in Six Months
KENT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1998-- Cyberian Outpost, Inc. (NASDAQ: COOL - news), a leading Internet-only retailer of computer hardware, software, peripherals and accessories for the worldwide consumer, today announced it has added more than 5,000 affiliates to its Affiliate Network, representing more than 1,500% growth in the last six months.

Launched in December 1997, Cyberian Outpost's Affiliate Network was expanded in March 1998 through a partnership with LinkShare Corporation, a leading provider of affiliate programs. Under the program, affiliates are paid a commission for the sales they generate for Cyberian Outpost via a link from their site to outpost.com.

The Outpost Affiliate Network is being further strengthened by a partnership with Host America, a Web site host for more than 13,000 small business Web sites in 45 countries. Host America will display banners, links and other graphics on its Web site to offer the Outpost Affiliate Network as a membership benefit to Home America's small business members.

''An affiliate program is an effective way to increase our revenue, build customer loyalty and attract new customers who are looking for the best computer products,'' said Darryl Peck, President and CEO of Cyberian Outpost. ''From personal attention, such as weekly newsletters and special offers, to advanced technology that makes it easy to develop and customize the purchasing experience, our affiliate program is a mutually beneficial environment that we expect will grow through word-of-mouth and partnerships such as LinkShare and Host America.''

The Outpost Affiliate Network features an innovative model for commissions in which affiliates can choose to receive their commission in cash or in store credit redeemable towards the purchase of the more than 140,000 computer products available at Cyberian Outpost's online store (http://www.outpost.com/).
