Emerging Company Report; Active Pixel Sensor Technology to Revolutionize Camcorder Industry

Barrett Sleeman, President, CEO and Director of Omicron Technologies, Inc. described his company's joint venture agreement with ViaSpace Technologies, LLC, wherein Omicron will a 40% initial interest in the revolutionary Active Pixel Sensor (APS) technology. “This small chip”, explained Sleeman, “about the size of a square half-dollar coin, will replace more than 50% of the parts in a camcorder or security camera. It is also 80% cheaper to produce than the current technology used. It gives us the opportunity to manufacture and market a high-quality camcorder product which will be only large enough to fit in the human hand.” Omicron's agreement with ViaSpace gives them the first right of refusal to acquire up to 80% of the APS technology. The company expects to have the products on store shelves in time for Christmas, 1999.
